Still feeling momentum from last year's third-place finish in the True Team state meet, Minnetonka's boys' track and field team blitzed the competition at the 16-team Lakeville Mega Meet last weekend at Lakeville North High School. The Skippers finished with 131 points, 55 1/2 points better than runner-up Anoka.

"We were expecting good results and hoping for the best," Minnetonka coach Chris Cohen said. "But you never know how things are going to play out. To finish so well out in front was a great sign that the team is shaping up. We're getting healthy and have most everybody on board. We're on track."

The Skippers broke meet records in two events en route to the team victory.

Minnetonka's 4x400 relay team of Justin Bader, Rashad Cohen, Christian Roemhildt and Angus Stoudt finished in 3 minutes, 25.04 seconds. In the 300-meter hurdles, Stoudt (38.8 seconds) and Cohen (39.5) were the top two finishers, both ahead of the old meet record.
