The boys' and girls' teams from Minnetonka advanced to Friday night's True Team track and field meet at Stillwater High School by winning their section meets last week.

The Skippers boys' team was third in the Class 3A meet last year. This is the girls' first appearance since a Class 3A runner-up showing in 2006.

The Buffalo boys' team also earned a spot in the Class 3A meet with a section championship, while Wayzata got in by way of a wild-card berth.

In Class 2A, the Delano boys' team will be represented.

The True Team concept originated in 1987 and is sponsored by the coaches association. The meet rewards teams for all of its finishers rather than just the top spots. A team is allowed two entries per individual event in Class 2A and three entries in Class 3A.
