Quick Q&A

ALICIA OLSEN

HENRY SIBLEY, Sr.

TRACK and field

Olsen has been a mainstay on the Henry Sibley girls’ track and cross-country teams for the past six years. She also was a three-year letterwinner on the hockey team. Here is a closer look at Olsen, who will run track and cross-country at Wisconsin-La Crosse next year:

The best movie I’ve seen in the past year: So many good movies, but the movie “Safe Haven” would probably be it even though the book is better.

Three words or phrases my friends or teammates might use to describe me: Hard-working, encouraging, motivated.

Three songs I never skip on my iPod are … Basically anything Taylor Swift.

What are your three favorite apps? The Weather Channel; Twitter; Instagram.

Who do you like to follow the most on Twitter, and why?

I don’t really follow any famous people. I just like to follow my friends, because they usually have some pretty funny and relatable tweets.

What was your first varsity practice like? Well, my first varsity practice was when I was in seventh grade on the cross-country team. It was probably one of the most intimidating moments in my life. A bunch of big high-schoolers basically surrounding my tiny shy seventh-grade self. But the team has always been filled with the nicest people, so the intimidation went away pretty quickly.

What is your most memorable moment as a high school athlete? When I made it to state my senior year in cross-country. I hadn’t made it since freshman year and I put in a lot of hard work over the summer. It was such a great feeling when it all paid off.
